About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated

Infection Prevention Nurse (LPN or RN)

to lead infection control systems, staff development, and quality improvement efforts within a 160‑bed skilled nursing and long‑term care facility. This is a

high‑visibility clinical leadership role

responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing infection risk, and supporting facility‑wide education and performance‑improvement initiatives.

You will serve as the central resource for infection surveillance, clinical training, and QAPI efforts, partnering closely with nursing leadership to strengthen safety, consistency, and quality of care throughout the building.

Key Responsibilities

Infection Prevention & Control

Monitor infection trends, outbreaks, and compliance across the facility

Conduct monthly infection control rounds and lead outbreak investigations

Review and update infection control policies and procedures

Prepare and present infection data to the QAPI committee

Staff Development & Education

Oversee orientation and competency validation for nursing staff

Coordinate required in‑services and continuing education programs

Assess training needs and develop education plans aligned with regulatory requirements

Support skill‑building, onboarding, and ongoing clinical development

Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI)

Participate in risk identification and performance improvement planning

Support regulatory readiness and documentation accuracy

Assist with quality systems that strengthen resident outcomes and compliance

Core Focus Areas

Clinical Excellence: Strengthen safety, infection control, and evidence‑based practices throughout the facility.

Education & Culture Development: Enhance team competency, confidence, and consistency through proactive education.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility meets state, federal, and organizational infection prevention standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Current

RN or LPN license

(State of Maryland or compact)

Experience in infection prevention, staff development, or quality improvement preferred

Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams

Knowledge of regulatory and clinical compliance requirements
