Overview
Location:

St. Vincent’s Medical Center (10427)

Shift:

Monday–Friday, four 10-hour shifts, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. On-call required alternating weekends and overnights.

Ideal candidate:

Cardiac background with extensive orientation and telemetry knowledge. RNs with a Cath Lab background needed who can work a per diem schedule.

Responsibilities

Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs to provide individualized care.

Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their education and expertise to meet patients’ needs and maximize staff performance.

Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and provides input to meet desired outcomes for the appropriate patient population.

Adheres to applicable nursing standards and ethics as described by professional guidelines.

Develops, implements and revises individualized plans of care.

Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of direct patient care.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Current Connecticut RN license.

BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

Associate degree required; BSN preferred.

Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required.

Must commit to passing orientation process full-time until sign-off.
