Must work 4 8‑hour shifts per month. Must select a shift beginning Friday at 11 pm and ending Monday morning at 7 am. All shifts are (7 am‑3 pm, 3 pm‑11 pm, or 11 pm‑7 am) unless otherwise specified.
About This Position
Jarc is looking to add Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to our growing team of care providers. Our DSPs are the heart of the organization engaging with and providing direct care to our people served. This position is responsible for all aspects of personal care, daily living, and housekeeping in their assigned home.
Responsibilities
Provide people served within assigned house with assistance, companionship, and comfort as needed
Comply with all OCHN and Jarc standards and requirements (more below)
Ensure the care of people served complies with the standards and requirements of all accrediting, licensing, and contractual bodies
Drive people served to/from errands, appointments, or events – in a Jarc vehicle
Document all daily notes, medications, and other required documentation in an appropriate and timely manner
Communicate appropriately with people served, staff, and house managers
Maintain communication around work schedule and hours
Qualifications & Skills
High School Diploma required
Current and valid driver’s license
At least 1‑2 years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Experience in a home care or hospital setting, preferred
Ability to stay calm in a stressful environment
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Time‑management
Willingness to work with people of different backgrounds, experience levels, and abilities
Working at Jarc
All Jarc employees are required to pass a background check, sign a TB authorization form, and provide a physical. Additionally, DSPs will be required to have an active CPR/First Aid Certification, Medication Training, and additional trainings required by the state and other entities. These will be provided as part of training.
