Schedule:

Weekdays with rotating weekend and on‑call coverage; options include weekdays 6 A‑2:30 P, Monday‑Thursday 10:30 A‑9 P, or weekdays 12:30 P‑9 P.

Pay Range:

$35.50 – $53.25 per hour

Sign‑on Bonus:

Up to $15,000 for eligible candidates

Relocation Assistance:

Up to $5,000 for qualified candidates

Location:

Responsibilities

Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms including 2‑D, 3‑D, Doppler, transesophageal, and stress studies per physician orders and protocols.

Record and interpret imaging data, maintain quality standards, and complete preliminary reports for cardiologist review.

Explain procedures and possible side effects to patients and families.

Provide echocardiography services at all assigned locations, including portable units, on variable shifts, weekends, and as required for emergent call coverage.

Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including transducers, networking systems, and off‑line analysis tools; perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Analyze patient medical records to gather history and necessary information for diagnostic procedures.

Participate in quality improvement activities, evaluate technical quality, and maintain logs and records.

Review department performance against goals and implement improvements.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.

Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or other staff as requested.

Communicate technical and patient‑care information according to established timelines.

Attend echocardiography lab meetings and pursue continuing education through conferences.

Work weekends, holidays, and on‑call as needed.

Promote a collaborative and cooperative work environment within the department.

For Level 4 Cardiac Sonographers:
Participate in dedicated research protocols.

Perform portable and lab echocardiograms in inpatient settings on weekends, holidays, and on an on‑call basis.

Provide coverage as a resource in the absence of the leadership team.

Engage in internal and external educational opportunities.

Serve as a role model for other cardiac sonographers.

Troubleshoot cardiac ultrasound equipment issues and ensure resolution.

Troubleshoot issues with EMR and Cardiac PACS systems.

Qualifications

Graduate of an American Medical Association‑approved School of Radiologic Technology, AMA‑approved ultrasound program, or CMA‑accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program (treated as 2‑year program). Associate’s degree preferred.

At least one year of patient‑care experience preferred.

Current Sonography credential (RDMS, RDCS) from ARDMS or RCS from CCI, with registration in appropriate cardiology specialties within two years of hire.

Current BLS certification.

Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and on‑call coverage.
