Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager of Medical Imaging, the Director of Medical Imaging, and the Staff Radiologists, the
Imaging Assistant
is responsible for safely and proficiently transporting patients and assisting radiology/imaging staff with designated patient care according to government regulations, physician orders, policies and procedures of the Medical Imaging Department, and policies and procedures of the hospital.
Responsibilities
Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and others to fulfill position responsibilities.
Actively participates in hospital and departmental group meetings.
Consistently responds to requests in a positive, professional, and timely manner.
Consistently demonstrates behavior which reflects that working as a team is more important than self-interest.
Demonstrates interpersonal competencies such as effective problem‑solving, negotiation, and conflict‑management skills.
Consistently maintains a professional level of conduct.
Facilitates communication with patients, physicians, guests, and co‑workers.
Consistently demonstrates courteous and positive behaviors, e.g., smile, pleasant tone of voice, positive eye contact.
Utilizes appropriate lines of accountability for the continuous improvement of quality.
Ensures that problems/concerns regarding departmental activities are communicated with the Director.
Ensures that problems/concerns regarding activities in the hospital are communicated appropriately.
Protects confidentiality of patients/co‑workers, respecting their dignity, privacy, and differences.
Shows respect for hospital property and the property of others.
Serves as role model for clerical, lab assistants, and volunteers.
Maintains employee and patient confidentiality.
Communicates instrument problems effectively to supervisors, director, and service personnel.
Ensures status of department is communicated to next shift or shift supervisor through verbalization and/or written in the communication log book.
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
No travel required.
