Overview
Adolescent Medicine Specialist – General Pediatrics Section, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM) at the University of North Carolina. This is a fixed term faculty position. Appointment type: Fixed Term Faculty; Full-Time Permanent; Hours per week: 40; FTE: 1. Position location: North Carolina, US. Posting open date: 03/28/2025. Open until filled: Yes. Salary/hiring range: Dependent on experience and qualifications. Proposed start date: 06/02/2026.
Responsibilities
Provide outpatient care at Raleigh and/or Chapel Hill clinical settings.
Deliver inpatient consultative care as needed, with plans for expansion as the section grows.
Possibility to provide medical care at youth detention centers and a youth psychiatric inpatient facility.
Collaborate with the Hematology-Adolescent Medicine clinic to provide reproductive healthcare for patients with possible bleeding disorders and other hematologic issues.
Collaborate with the UNC Center for Excellence for Eating Disorders, housed in the Department of Psychiatry.
Opportunities to expand to other outpatient specialty collaborative clinics.
Engage in faculty activities such as medical education, teaching medical students and residents, curriculum oversight, and rotation supervision as part of GPAM.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: M.D.; Fellowship-trained and Board-certified or Board-eligible in Adolescent Medicine.
Preferred: Experience in medical education and/or contributions to academic scholarship.
