Job Description
Travel RN - Emergency Department (ED) – Emergency Nurse.
Assignment Overview
Start Date: 06/01/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
36 hours per week
Shift: 12 hours, nights
Employment Type: Travel
Responsibilities
Night shift schedule: 3x12‑hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Patient ratio of 1:3
Every other weekend required
Floating between two campuses (Belleville and Shiloh) and to inpatient units if census is low
No on‑call requirements
Charting system: Epic
Naval scrubs required
Free parking on‑site
Qualifications
Active IL RN license required; MO state license also required at time of consideration
Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
Current BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS certifications required
TNCC preferred
Experience with Epic EMR required
Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
Prepared to work fast‑track, triage, and high‑acuity patient assignments
Strong teamwork, customer service, and adaptability required
First‑time travelers welcome
RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13‑week contract; no RTO permitted during first week of orientation
Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, then 3‑month break in service required
Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Online modules must be completed prior to or during orientation
