About the AGILE Internship
VELCO’s Advancing Grid Intelligence through Learning Experiences (AGILE) Program is a summer internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate college students. Based on principles of agile project management, AGILE Interns will make meaningful and tangible contributions to VELCO’s strategic projects to protect reliability and affordability of the transmission system.

How You Will Make an Impact
We’re seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Power Accounting Intern to join our team and gain hands‑on experience. Power accounting involves tracking, measuring, and settling the flow of electricity across high‑voltage grids, managing costs for usage, congestion, and line losses.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily metering, scheduling, market settlements and monthly power billings.

Support daily power accounting operations including collection of meter data.

Assist and support with invoicing and audit processes.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.

Basic understanding of accounting.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Physical/Mental Demands
Prolonged periods of working on a computer. Must be able to maintain fast pace while completing complex, analytical work, in potentially stressful situations, with competing priorities, within tight timelines and with frequent interruptions.

Compensation
$14.50 – $17.50 – $21.50 per hour. This representation indicates the minimum, midpoint and maximum pay for this position. Individual offers will be based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, education, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is just one component of our total compensation package, which may also include comprehensive benefits, generous paid time off and incentive compensation (bonus) potential.
