Job Overview
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is seeking an experienced

Respiratory Therapist (NICU/Pediatrics)

for a high-acuity academic medical center. This role supports critically ill adult and pediatric patients across ICU, ED, and specialty units in a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment.

Patient Population

Adult ICU, Med/Surg, and ED patients

Pediatric and NICU respiratory cases

Conditions include COPD, asthma, pneumonia, post‑surgical care, and critical respiratory failure

Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced respiratory care across adult and pediatric units

Manage ventilators and critical care respiratory support systems

Perform airway management and emergency interventions

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams

Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR

Support high-acuity and trauma-level patient care

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of critical care Respiratory Therapy experience

RRT required (CRT accepted but not preferred)

NC Respiratory Therapy license required

Adult RT: BLS & ACLS required

NICU/Peds RT: BLS, PALS & NRP required

Strong preference for Level I Trauma or high‑acuity hospital experience

First‑time travelers accepted

Schedule & Work Details

Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Every other weekend rotation

No call required

Travelers required to work 75% of holidays

6‑week scheduling cycle

No floating outside assigned unit

EMR: EPIC

Advanced respiratory therapy equipment across ICU, NICU, and pediatric units
