Substation Electrician III

Here’s The Role
Now hiring a substation electrician to join our team that services the crucial infrastructure of Central Texas! Bring your expertise to New Braunfels, and to our Light Maintenance team, where you will perform electrical work on equipment like motor control systems and interlocks, high voltage switchgear and protective relays. How You’ll Contribute

Perform electrical work on equipment (motors, generators, electrical circuit breakers, condensers, transformers, switches, communication systems, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring).

Locate and repair failures in circuits and equipment, and implement solutions.

Test all power apparatus in substations, power plants, or other installations, record results and develop summary for reports.

Read and update blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

Operate and transport heavy equipment and aerial bucket equipment.

Travel independently or with a small crew to LCRA locations as scheduled.

How You’re Qualified

Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.

A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

Class A Texas commercial driver’s license.
