
CNC Set-Up Operator-2nd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a CNC Set‑Up Operator to join our 2nd shift team in Sandusky, where you will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing operations. In this position, you’ll set up and operate CNC and conventional equipment to produce high‑quality components while ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to production standards in a fast‑paced environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Precision machine set‑up and operating responsibilities.
Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet demand.
Sets up and operates CNC and other related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assembly from raw materials.
Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
Resolves issues related to the organization’s production, machinery, and processing.
Tests and calibrates components and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
Observes established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly corrects and/or notifies supervisor of any hazardous situations.
All supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non‑essential requirements as assigned.
For This Role, You Will Need:
High school diploma/GED or 2 years of experience required.
Between 1–3 years CNC set‑up experience or demonstrated proficiency.
Blueprint reading.
Ability to produce a quality part at a productive rate.
Work in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
Ability to utilize mechanical/manufacturing standards of practice for both manufacturing and assembly of components to obtain a defect‑free part for shipment to customers.
