APPS Paramedical is one of the largest paramedical companies in the United States, offering nationwide coverage as we complete insurance physicals for people applying for life, health, or disability insurance products. The Western Washington office is looking for quality medical professionals to help us complete these exams in a timely, professional manner on behalf of the insurance company. Bilingual applicants are encouraged.
Position
Mobile Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist in Silverdale/Poulsbo/Kingston Area.
Job Summary
Independent contractors are self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision while completing quality exams using their medical knowledge.
Exams are done on a mobile basis in the home or office of the client and may involve blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12‑lead EKGs.
Contractors must follow all compliance and safety policies, as well as maintain accuracy and confidentiality when gathering client information.
Exam duration ranges from 15 minutes to a little over an hour.
Hours
Set your own schedule. Exams are available 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
Many contractors use this opportunity to supplement income from full‑time jobs.
Scheduling assistance is provided, allowing you to focus on medical exams.
Job Details
Reimbursement: You are reimbursed every two weeks by direct deposit for each exam completed.
Territory: Set your own territory by choosing the zip codes you will work within.
Orientation: 3‑4 hour in‑person orientation verifies your skills and familiarizes you with required paperwork and the website used by ICs.
Equipment:
May rent equipment such as tablets, EKG machines, and centrifuges. Use of your own equipment will be considered but is not guaranteed.
Some items need to be purchased (Manual BP cuff, Large & Extra Large).
Additional supplies: Stethoscope, tape measure (soft fabric & metal), printer/paper/ink, 400‑lb scale, 1 box extra gloves, 1 box alcohol swabs, 1 box band‑aid or coban, 1 box gauze.
Qualifications
Actively practicing phlebotomy with at least 1 year of work experience.
Trained in manual blood pressure and pulse collection.
Familiarity with tablets/computers.
Preferred experience with pediatric and geriatric patients/home health.
EKG experience is preferred but not required.
Reliable vehicle with a valid state driver's license and auto insurance.
References and background check will be evaluated.
Education
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalency. Required: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant state certification.
