RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY:

Leads the Data Integrity Specialist team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of patient demographic, clinical, and financial data across hospital information systems.
Resolves problems and errors in the patient medical record with internal and external IT analysts, department leaders, trainers, and staff.
Coordinates, set priorities, and monitors workload for specialists, critical to maintaining patient safety.
Directly assists the HIM Director by coordinating ongoing TJC audits, assists with report writing, supports Coding Audits, HIM projects, and HIM department workflows.
Performs all duties necessary to maintain the integrity of the QMC electronic health record data so that clinicians making treatment decisions are doing so based on accurate information for that patient.
Investigates and resolves duplicate record issues created by employed staff as well as Queen’s Connect and other entities leasing The Queen’s Health Systems Medical Center electronic health record system.
Performs duties of a Data Integrity Specialist.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
Subjected to noise/vibration from pneumatic tube system and telephones.
Subjected to moving files, electrical wires and rolling ladders/step stools.
May require after hours and/or on-call work.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION:

Associate's degree in health information management or related field; or two (2) years of experience in healthcare or data management, may be substituted for the educational requirement.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

EPIC certification in Health Information Management or Clinical Applications or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred.
C. EXPERIENCE:

In addition to the educational requirement, four (4) years of experience in medical records, clinical, or information technology, preferably in an acute care facility.
Prior supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
Prior experience with EPIC highly preferred.
