Duties
This position requires a strong commitment to teaching and student success while incorporating technology and innovation in instruction. The ability to infuse new approaches into the teaching/learning process is essential. Candidates must be able to work actively and collegially.
The responsibilities of an EMS Instructor are to provide hands‑on and classroom instruction in paramedic or EMT courses and/or assist in coordination of the didactic, lab, clinical and field internship instruction. Duties include various faculty responsibilities; it is preferred that the role will serve as program coordinator.
Education & Experience
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in nursing, health sciences or related field or higher; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum four (4) years of full‑time paramedic experience (equating a minimum of 2000 hours professional work experience).
Teaching experience required.
IDPH Licensure as Paramedic or Leader Instructor required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards for classroom instruction, apply innovative teaching methods and demonstrate ability to work with students at all skill levels. Teaching duties will consist of preparing, instructing, and evaluating courses; seeking continuous improvement in teaching methodology and student‑centered learning.
