Responsibilities
Williston Basin School District #7 is seeking a School Nurse for an on-site position based in Williston, ND. The School Nurse will provide essential care to students, respond to medical emergencies, and ensure the health and well-being of students and staff. Key responsibilities include conducting health assessments, managing student medications, maintaining records, promoting health education, identifying communicable diseases, and collaborating with staff and families to address student health needs. The role also includes creating a safe and healthy school environment in alignment with district policies and state regulations.
Qualifications
Proficient in assessing health needs, providing first aid, and managing emergency medical situations.
Experience in administering medications and monitoring medical treatments, including knowledge of chronic health conditions in school-aged children.
Ability to maintain thorough health records, ensure compliance with health regulations, and report efficiently to appropriate entities.
Strong communication, collaboration, and education skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families in promoting health and wellness.
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Dakota, or ability to obtain licensure prior to starting the role.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
Prior experience working in a school or pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and adhere to privacy policies and regulations.
