Medical/Nursing Assistant – Temporary Staff Position
Responsibilities
The certified nursing assistant at the Student Health Center functions as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team that provides direct patient care and clinical support in the following clinics:
Immunization Clinic
Medical Clinic
Sports Medicine Clinic
Women's Health Clinic
Technical Knowledge:
Obtain patient data in the Women's Health Clinic (primary), Sports Medicine Clinic, and Medical Clinic, including vital signs, chief concern, drug allergies, current medication, past medical history, assist with GYN form, prepare for gynecological examination or medical procedure, and enter information into the computer‑based information system.
Customer Service:
Provide professional customer service, address patient concerns promptly, assist with patient communication to multidisciplinary staff, communicate nursing care prior to procedures, help patients navigate the health clinic, and maintain professional phone etiquette.
Clinical Duties:
Maintain infection control standards with cleaning and disinfecting equipment, use appropriate protective equipment, follow established protocols, understand use of medical equipment, including pulse oximeters, automated blood pressure machines, thermometers, wheelchairs, exam tables, exam lights, Dymo label printers, and pneumatic tube system.
Other Duties:
Order supplies and stock the room, track pap results, maintain brochures, operate office equipment (fax, printer, scanner), perform data entry, and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Must be a certified nursing assistant with at least one year of experience.
Preferred: At least 3 years of experience as a CNA in a medical clinic/office setting.
