We are currently seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Homemakers / Home Care Aides to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes while being part of an agency that truly values its employees.
Description
Homemaker / Home Care Aide responsibilities include assisting clients with meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, errands, transportation, companionship, and respite support. Homemakers play an important role in improving clients’ quality of life by delivering care in a respectful, compassionate, and professional manner in accordance with agency policies and industry standards.
Position Summary
Homemakers provide essential in-home support to individuals who need assistance due to age, illness, disability, or other health-related conditions. Services may include housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, errands, transportation, companionship, and respite support.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with meal planning and meal preparation
Perform light housekeeping duties such as making and changing beds, dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
Laundry
Assist with essential shopping and errands in accordance with the care plan
Handle client funds for approved errands when authorized and supervised
Support clients in following written special diet plans as outlined in the care plan
Escort clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, errands, and outings as specified in the care plan
Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional support
Assist clients with communication needs, including writing or typing correspondence and researching information
Follow the written care plan and all agency policies and procedures
Observe changes in the client’s condition and report concerns to the Supervisor
Complete and maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and service hours
Attend orientation, in-service training, and staff meetings
Maintain professional communication with Supervisors and co-workers
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Supervisor.
Requirements
The homemaker must pass the agency exam with a score of 75% or better
In good physical health
High school diploma or equivalent required
Related training or experience is a plus
Valid driver’s license required
Valid automobile insurance required
