We are looking for Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs) to join our team at Morningside House of Towamencin, a leading personal care and memory care community in Lansdale, PA.
Schedule
Available shifts: 1st and 2nd shift.

Position Summary
Administer oral and topical medications to residents. This individual must perform tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. They also perform routine daily tasks required in maintaining the health, comfort and wellbeing of the residents.
Essential Responsibilities
Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with community policy.
Demonstrate knowledge of the “five rights” of medication administration; administer and record all medication given to residents based upon their specific chart.
Take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as required by certain medications.
Record the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately, utilizing the computer system to enter and reference resident information as needed.
Observe and report any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse immediately.
Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
Ensure antiseptic techniques and good hand‑washing practices for infection control, and utilize universal precautions.
Report and, when appropriate, record any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents.
Submit incident/accident reports to supervisor or administrator within twenty‑four (24) hours after their occurrence.
Communicate with medical staff, nursing service and other department supervisors.
Supervise care staff in the absence of nurses.
Maintain, clean and organize the medication room.
Maintain a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for resident activities.
Attend all required training, in‑service and staff meetings.
May be subject to handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, AIDS and hepatitis B viruses.
Maintain resident confidentiality and staff confidentiality; treat staff and residents with kindness, dignity and respect.
Comply with resident’s rights rules.
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Medication Technician certification required.
