Responsibilities
Provide direct ICU care for adult and geriatric patients, monitoring hemodynamics, ventilator support, and complex therapies per unit protocols.
Administer medications, nursing interventions, and respond to changes in patient condition; initiate life‑saving interventions as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Assess patients, document findings in the electronic medical record, monitor equipment, and ensure safety and infection control standards.
Educate patients and families, coordinate with case management for discharge planning, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements
Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
NIHSS certification required.
Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire.
CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Ability to care for adults and older adults on an ICU unit; strong communication, confidentiality, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
