Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Charleston County, SC, for an Oncology Hematology Registered Nurse. The nurse will be responsible for providing compassionate and expert care to patients with oncological and hematological conditions. Main duties include administering chemotherapy, monitoring patient outcomes, managing symptoms, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and educating patients and their families about treatment plans and supportive care. The role calls for adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to providing superior care to veteran patients.
Qualifications
An active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina
Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and handling oncological and hematological treatments
Strong patient education, communication, and counseling skills
Ability to collaboratively work with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes
Experience in symptom management and monitoring patient progress
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under pressure
Flexibility, compassion, and dedication to serving veteran patients
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) designation is an asset
At least two years of nursing experience with a focus on oncology and hematology preferred
