
Laboratory Technician

Pride Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant / Laboratory Technician to join a clinical laboratory team in New York City, NY, 10065. This is a 24 week contract position. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented healthcare professional with experience in clinical laboratory operations and specimen processing.
Key Responsibilities
Process patient samples for analysis, including reviewing test requests, accessioning, centrifugation, aliquotting, and placing samples on analyzers
Perform waived laboratory tests and prepare specimens for referral to external laboratories
Accession specimens in the laboratory information system following standard operating procedures
Prioritize STAT/RUSH samples for immediate processing
Communicate with physicians and nursing staff to resolve discrepancies or obtain additional information
Prepare, label, sort, and transport specimens to appropriate laboratory sections
Requirements
1–2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Assistant, or related role
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or Certified Vocational Training with 1 year of experience
Additional Information
Contract Length - 24 weeks with possible extension
Shift - Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm
Pay Range - $20.00-$26.00 Per hour
