Job Summary
Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will work under the direct supervision of the charge nurse. The charge nurse will follow up with the CMA to ensure the medication pass is completed timely and accurately, ensuring the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
Previous patient care experience preferred.
Current certification as Medication Aide.
Clinical Responsibilities
Participate in shift report.
Perform routine patient care in accordance with federal, state, company and center nursing policies and procedures.
Employ preventative and restorative measures.
Follow hand washing techniques and other infection control guidelines during the performance of patient care.
Administrative Responsibilities
Report promptly any change of patient condition or other concerns to the patient care supervisor.
Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
Report medication reorders and related concerns.
Participate in all assigned meetings.
Participate in all training, education or in‑service as required.
Inventory drugs on the designated forms as they arrive.
