
Assistant Nurse Manager - Interventional Radiology

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse who reports to the unit director/manager and uses the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within an assigned shift. The ANM supports the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit, and provides managerial presence for all shifts.
Responsibilities
Supervises the planning, coordination and delivery of patient care activities of the unit(s) in a team environment.
Coordinates daily staffing and utilization of healthcare providers according to established standards of care and competencies, and supervises the scheduling process of staff.
Supports performance improvement programs and initiatives, and actively participates in professional governance.
Collaborates with other hospital management personnel in problem solving in the absence of the director.
Participates in interviewing, selecting, training, developing, coaching, evaluating, appraising and disciplining department staff; in conjunction with manager, processes terminations; oversees management of Kronos activities.
Follows principles and requirements outlined in the Compliance Integrity Program, Code of Conduct and related organizational materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
Provides input to the development and revision of unit policies and procedures.
Supports patient rights and the code of conduct.
Inspects the unit regularly for compliance with department policies and procedures, standards, and regulations, and takes corrective action when indicated.
Promotes harmonious relationships and favorable attitudes amongst the healthcare team.
Maintains a positive and open working relationship with the medical staff and other hospital departments.
Conducts staff meetings, posting agendas and minutes in the department.
Assists in resolving patient complaints in a timely manner, referring to manager/director or other sources to intervene as appropriate.
Serves as a role model to staff in upholding positive relationships with patients and visitors.
Consults and serves as a resourceful professional to staff members by identifying learning needs and providing instructions when observed to be needed.
Contributes creative ideas for systems and supplies; participates in evaluation of new products, supplies and equipment.
Provides direction to nursing staff to complete assignments in a timely manner and ensures that all team members are working at their capacity.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and Graduate from School of Nursing (BS, or BSN). Registered Nurses employed in this role before November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License.
Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
Leadership experience.
Shared Governance experience.
