
Registered Nurse PreOp

Overview
Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse for our PreOp team. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 hour shifts.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pre-op/PACU, Manager, and the Charge Nurse, implement physician orders and provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition, while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
Deliver indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, considering the patient’s age and risk factors; serve as a patient advocate to meet physical and psychological needs.
Perform patient assessment and reassessment upon admission and regularly, documenting assessments to plan each patient’s care.
Communicate nursing interventions and patient responses to responsible practitioners and document all components of the nursing process in accordance with standards of practice.
Take emergency calls as assigned and ensure sterile technique where applicable.
Integrate and coordinate care across settings and among disciplines; implement physician orders safely and effectively per standards of practice.
Use precautions in the direct care and supervision of sedated patients; provide transfer information to nursing personnel.
Document all records according to established policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License:
Current TX Nursing License; Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACU and/or hospital setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Ability to establish priorities and exercise nursing judgment in decision-making
Ability to recognize and intervene in stressful situations and perform effectively
