Responsibilities

Delivers all aspects of Respiratory Care to all age groups. Assists in orientation and training of new staff and acts as a resource. Cross-trains in other areas and floats to fulfill hospital needs. Participates in department quality improvement studies, in-services, and meetings. Recognizes signs of stroke and calls a stroke alert. Assesses and maintains airway, assists with intubation, and transport of the intubated stroke patient. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing annual 1-hour online training.
Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA approved program. Current registered respiratory therapist license in the State of Florida. Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS. Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital including adult critical care. Must have one year acute care experience. NICU Level III experience preferred.
