Coverage Dates: ASAP - End of September 2026Practice Setting: Free-Standing Cancer CenterReason for Coverage: Additional coverage support

Position Highlights:

Blend of outpatient oncology and inpatient call/rounding
Supportive team with 8 physicians and 4 APPs
Manageable patient volumes
Call rotation only every 5-6 weeks
Majority benign hematology focus (65%)

Schedule & Call Coverage

Weeknight Call:
- Tuesday: 4:30 PM - 8:00 AM
Weekend Call:
- Friday 4:30 PM - Monday 8:00 AM
- Includes onsite inpatient rounding Saturday & Sunday
Call Rotation: 1:5-6

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

Patient Volume:

Outpatient: 15 patients per day
Inpatient (call/rounding): 20 patients

Case Mix:

65% benign hematology
35% malignant oncology

Responsibilities Include:

Managing hematology and oncology patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
Participating in call coverage and inpatient rounding
Managing bone marrow transplant patients
Ordering and interpreting labs and imaging
Prescribing medications and managing treatment plans
Coordinating care with multidisciplinary oncology team
Supporting blood bank and transfusion needs

Procedures / Duties

Management of bone marrow transplants
Blood bank utilization
Ordering tests and imaging
Prescribing medications
Chemotherapy administered by nurse oncologist

Support & Technology

Team Structure:

8 physicians
4 APPs

Technology:

EMR: Epic

Requirements

Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology - required
Active South Carolina license (or ability to obtain) - required
BLS - required
DEA - required

Organization & Team

Established oncology program with multidisciplinary collaboration
Strong APP and physician support structure
Focus on both hematology and oncology patient care
