Position Schedule
Location: Split between Oroville and Yuba City.
Monday – Oroville, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday – Oroville, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday – Yuba City, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday – Oroville, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Total Hours: 38 per week (full time)

Position Summary
The Medical Assistant works under the supervision of the Floor RN or Nursing Director and the Physician. Responsibilities align with Title 16, California Administrative Code, Chapter 13, paragraph 1366.
Essential Functions
Assist in patient examinations: escort, interview, measure vital signs, and record data in the electronic record.
Maintain a safe, clean environment: organize exam rooms, safeguard and clean equipment, and manage supplies.
Clean and sterilize instruments (e.g., autoclave).
Assist with inventory and medical supply ordering.
Document all patient information electronically and sign entries with name and title.
Seek guidance for tasks beyond area of competence.
Complete duties and projects on time.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient exams.
Perform secretarial tasks such as processing refill requests, obtaining medical records, and other duties as directed.
Maintain EZIZ credentials and annual competencies for new vaccine procedures.
Administer injections (IZs or vaccines) and routine laboratory tests; medical assistants do not administer lidocaine‑containing injectables.
Collaborate with the supervisor to set measurable goals; monitor and evaluate performance based on these metrics.
Additional Responsibilities
When trained and approved, perform specialized tasks related to the assigned area.
Execute other related duties with the Nursing Director’s approval.
Participate in continuing education to enhance care quality.
Identify and report child and adult abuse, assault, and domestic violence, and make appropriate referrals.
Assist staff in developing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.
Attend required trainings, meetings, and conferences.
Learn and implement evolving electronic health record functions.
Support miscellaneous departmental needs as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Maintain promptness with minimal absenteeism.
Collaborate with nursing staff, healthcare providers, other departments, patients, and visitors.

Communicate tactfully, exercising judgment in all interactions.
Accept and utilize supervision.
Education & Experience
Graduated from an approved Medical Assistant program.
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Physical Requirements
The employee must regularly use hands for various tasks, reach, stoop, kneel, balance, and lift up to 25 lbs. Visual acuity including close, distance, color, and depth vision is required. The role is physically and emotionally demanding, with high stress and exposure to body fluids.
Work Environment
The workplace includes moderate noise and may involve exposure to odors and airborne particles.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $24.10 – $25.07 (experience dependent).
