
Animal Care Technician

Major Responsibilities
Responsible for performing animal care procedures including acclimation, handling, restraint, cage side observations, providing feed, water, enrichment, cage/enclosure cleaning and sanitation, and the preparation and distribution of routine medication and specialized diets.
Assist with the setup, receipt, and unpacking of animal shipments and supplies according to SOPs and study protocols.
Operate and maintain equipment (autoclave, cage washer, rack washer, changing stations, Class II BSC, etc.) in accordance with SOP.
Perform cage wash/rack wash procedures, including preparing, sanitizing, and distributing cages, enclosures, and supplies to support incoming animals and daily husbandry for research studies and internal/client colonies.
Ensure effective sanitation of assigned areas and equipment as per SOPs.
Maintain appropriate documentation, including animal identification, cage side observations, equipment operation and maintenance records, and environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity.
Observe, record, and report atypical findings to veterinary staff and senior personnel.
Perform tasks or procedures in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and SOPs.
Comply with all regulatory guidelines, occupational health, and safety programs in line with company policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
