Job Summary
Position: PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE)
Location: Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, 10030 Gilead Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
Schedule: Full time, 12‑hour shifts, 6:45 am–6:45 pm with rotating weekends.
Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing to ensure compliance with nutritional requirements.
Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, or specific dietary requests.
Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and timely; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
Adhere to regulatory agency standards (federal, state, JCAHO) and HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
Follow facility and department infection control policies.
Assist dietitians with patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
Complete all required daily, weekly or monthly reports per Morrison Healthcare policies.
Comply with federal, state, local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
Basic computer and mathematical skills.
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and push food delivery carts.
