Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Immunology Discovery group. The candidate will be lab‑based, developing and executing experimental strategies to evaluate novel interventions in in‑vitro models of inflammation.
Key Responsibilities
Design, perform, and interpret in vitro experiments with a high degree of autonomy to support target validation, mechanism of action studies, and progression of drug discovery programs.
Develop hypotheses with creative experimental designs to advance novel biology and targeting modalities.
Introduce state‑of‑the‑art expertise in cellular assay technologies – assist with elevation of laboratory capabilities.
Document research in internal discovery reports, manuscripts for external publication, and other formats as required.
Work closely with colleagues from partner organizations to enable and/or support research activities.
Present research at internal meetings and external scientific forums.
Work with leadership to establish and maintain involvement in any external collaborations required to support research goals.
Requirements
PhD in Immunology/Pharmacology/Cell Biology or related discipline with 1‑3 years additional lab experience.
Hands‑on experience with in vitro cellular models of inflammation required, including primary human immune cell isolation and cell culture, as well as experience with adherent, structural cell types (ex. fibroblasts, epithelium).
Ability to independently design, execute, analyze, and accurately document laboratory experiments required.
Experience with standard methods for examination of gene and protein expression, including quantitative PCR, ELISA, MSD, western blot, and flow cytometry‑based methods, are required.
Experience in profiling potency and mechanism of action of antibody and/or small molecule therapeutics is preferred.
Experience with in vivo techniques (ex. rodent handling, dosing of therapeutic molecules, tissue harvesting) is preferred.
Strong oral, written, and fit‑for‑purpose communication skills are required.
Excellent interpersonal & collaborative skills with an ability to operate as part of a team in highly interdependent environment are required.
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long‑term incentive program.
Benefits
Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time – 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado – 48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – 13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52‑week rolling period (10 days)
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time‑Off – 80 hours per calendar year
