Job Summary
As our Clinic Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Responsibilities

Greets and prepares patients for practitioner visits; obtains and records vital signs, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems; positions, drapes, and cleans up after examinations under provider supervision; provides patient mobility assistance as necessary.

Performs basic lab and phlebotomy procedures, draws blood, performs EKGs and laboratory procedures, administers approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intradermal routes; informs patients of lab results and mails reports, under provider supervision.

May “pend” orders for laboratory testing and radiology studies for provider sign‑off.

Documents medical visits and procedures performed by healthcare providers in the electronic medical record in accordance with established procedures.

Enters data such as patient medical history, physical exam results, patient education and explanation of benefits/risks, provider‑dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions for patient/family self‑care and follow‑up, and prepares referral letters as directed.

Reviews medical documentation to validate information, identify inconsistencies or errors, and facilitate overall accuracy of the medical record in accordance with procedures and requirements.

Reviews clinical data, lab results, and the interpretation of the test results by the provider.

Troubleshoots and resolves routine issues and escalates non‑routine issues to provider or appropriate contact.

Understands and applies legal and ethical requirements relating to the preparation of medical documentation and patient confidentiality.

Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments; disposes of contaminated items per established standards; keeps exam rooms clean, orderly, and well‑stocked; maintains adequate inventory of supplies; anticipates providers’ needs for medications, supplies, and equipment and plans accordingly.

Schedules appointments, including office visits, ultrasound, non‑stress tests; processes/authorizes referrals to other medical care providers, clinics, and facilities; collaborates with other departments to schedule appointments for mutual clients.

May perform front office clerical duties such as billing, collection, and registration functions, verifying insurance, and collecting co‑payments.

Coordinates patient flow to ensure sufficient time for patient and family education.

Performs telephone communication functions; provides clear information verbally and in writing.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience

High School Graduate, General Studies, upon hire.

High School GED, General Studies, upon hire.

Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution, upon hire.

Validation of equivalent military training (e.g., Hospital Corpsman) demonstrating requisite job knowledge and skills, upon hire.

One year of Medical Assistant work experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements

Current driver’s license and ability to drive to assigned location(s).

Preferred Experience

One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant.

Licensure and Certification

Medical Assistant Certification: WA (MAC:WA), upon hire.

Basic Life Support – BLS‑CPR, within 30 days of hire.

Pay Range
$26.45 – $34.44 /hour
