Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

This Psychiatry position is located in Suffolk County, NY, covering both Patchogue and Copiague. The role is for a Lead Psychiatrist focusing on both clinical and leadership responsibilities in a full-time capacity.

About the Opportunity:

• Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid
• Shift: Day
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, with a flexible admin/telehealth day on Friday
• Hours: Varies between locations (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Setting: Clinical, Outpatient

Responsibilities:

The Lead Psychiatrist will be responsible for:

• Providing psychiatric assessments and medication management
• Supporting clients in the outpatient Oasis substance use clinic
• Offering supervision to seven psychiatric nurse practitioners
• Delivering follow-up care, telehealth or in-person as needed
• Ensuring psychiatric coverage for approximately 180 PROS clients

Qualifications:

• MD or DO licensed in New York State
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry and Neurology
• Valid NY State driver's license
• Medicare and Medicaid enrollment (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in substance use treatment or outpatient mental health
• Ability to work with adult and occasional adolescent clients
• Familiarity with Comprehensive Outpatient programs
• Strong communication skills
• Leadership ability
• Organizational skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience in a similar role
• Advanced degree in medicine or related field
• Advanced certifications in Psychiatry
• Familiarity with outpatient treatment settings
• Excellent interpersonal skills
