Job Description
Veterinary Technician – urgent care team member responsible for patient care, client communication and life‑saving support in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safely restrain animals using low‑stress handling techniques
Triage and assess incoming patients to prioritize care
Collect and analyze laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, skin, etc.)
Perform diagnostic imaging and accurately capture radiographs
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical prep, procedures, and recovery
Provide high‑quality nursing care to stable and critical patients
Accurately document patient histories and interpret medical records
Communicate treatment plans clearly and compassionately to clients
Qualifications
Minimum of one year veterinary technician experience (required)
Flexibility to work rotating weekends (required)
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a collaborative attitude
Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
Solid understanding of preventative care, hospital workflow, and surgical procedures
Competence in sample collection, lab test processing, radiograph positioning, and anesthetic monitoring
Ability to accept and act on constructive feedback to support hospital efficiency
Self‑starter mentality with a commitment to continued learning and professional development
