AS A CERTIFIED RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST, you'll perform diagnostic procedures using x-rays to produce images of the body. The radiographer is responsible for the care of the patient during the procedure and they are accountable for the appropriate exposure of radiation to humans.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
Experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
Ability to communicate with patients and personnel required
Knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, human anatomy, physics and radiographic positioning
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his/her assigned unit
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age, specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s departmental policies
