Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy Management Organization founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. ITC is searching for a Physical Therapist to join a fun and energetic environment that strives to achieve great outcomes with every patient. Treating diagnoses includes orthopedic patients, post‑surgical patients, neurological patients, balance disorders, and deconditioning. We are part of a swing‑bed rehabilitation program that helps to offer a great continuum of care. Join our rehabilitation team of Physical Therapists, PT Assistants, Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, and Speech Therapists to provide excellent patient experiences while achieving phenomenal outcomes.

Responsibilities

Review physician’s referral and patient’s condition and medical records to determine required physical therapy treatment
Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and record findings to develop or revise treatment programs
Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data
Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function
Administer therapeutic exercises to improve strength, range of motion, flexibility, and cardiovascular function
Instruct, motivate, and assist patient in performing various physical activities to achieve functional goals
Instruct, motivate, and assist patient in using assistive and supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and prostheses
Administer treatments involving application of physical agents: hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, TENS, and dry needling
Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
Administer massage
Administer traction to relieve pain
Record treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart or entry into computer systems
Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to continue at home
Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modification to Orthotist
Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy with other aspects of patient care
Orient, instruct, and direct work activities of assistants, techs, and students
Plan and conduct lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups
Plan and develop physical therapy research programs and participate in conducting research
Consult and practice with other professionals: physicians, dentists, nurses, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists, and audiologists
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may include supervising Physical Therapy Assistants or Techs in some situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

Must have an active and current Physical Therapist License that allows practice in the state of work; must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination and fulfill state requirements such as a jurisprudence exam.
Other Qualifications

Must be willing to work occasional weekend shifts in designated sites; should have strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate patients about their condition, treatments, and to communicate with patients’ families; should also be compassionate and possess a desire to help patients.
Physical Demands

Must regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, speak or hear; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance; requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to vibration; noise level usually moderate.
Education

Master’s degree (M. A.) or Doctorate (Ph. D.) in Physical Therapy.
