
Nursing Clinical Faculty – Med Surg -- Virginia and Tennessee

About the Role
The faculty member has accountability for facilitating implementation of the course on a day-to-day basis and is responsible for efficient utilization of resources in classrooms, lab, and clinical sites. The Clinical Instructor of an assigned course works with the Clinical Skills coordinator and faculty member to ensure continuity and integration of the curriculum providing academic oversight for the assigned course.
Responsibilities
Follow the approved course syllabus to deliver course content and/or clinical objectives according to method of instruction provided by the University.
Evaluates the student’s experience, progress in relation to the clinical objectives/outcomes, and achievement with input from additional faculty, lab personnel, and/or preceptor, if utilized.
Has authority and responsibility for the development and implementation of student evaluation methods and tools.
Grade all assessments, record grades, and provide student feedback.
Respond to inquiries and communications from students via ANU e-mail and Canvas messaging in a timely manner.
Competently utilize Canvas, the virtual library, synchronous video delivery tools, and other University resources to deliver courses following University-approved syllabi.
Follow all ANU policies related to the modality in which they are teaching.
Complete an annual professional development plan that includes at least 2 professional development activities and 2 in-service activities. Provide documentation of completed plan.
Sign and follow the adjunct faculty contract each term.
Attendance at faculty meetings is mandatory.
Qualifications
Adjunct Nursing Faculty shall hold a master's degree with a major in nursing for clinical instructor assignments; must have at least 2 years in Med-Surg
Nursing faculty will have a minimum of two years of direct client care experience as a registered nurse;
All faculty will hold an unencumbered current license, multi-state license, or temporary license to practice as a registered nurse in the state where the campus is located;
Responsibilities
Clinical faculty will supervise a maximum of 10 students in a group at the clinical facility, or the maximum number of students permitted at the institution (not to exceed 10 students).
Provide evidence of periodic tuberculin testing, immunizations, BLS certification, background check, and drug screening as required by nursing program policy.
Attend ANU nursing clinical adjunct orientation session and faculty meetings as required by the Nurse Administrator.
Complete all required agency training pertaining to medication administration, HIPAA, electronic health records, and unit orientation.
Collaborate with nursing course instructor and course coordinator as necessary to facilitate students with achieving clinical objectives.
Manage appropriately delicate student situations through effective communication and negotiation with faculty, students, and facility staff regarding problems in the clinical setting.
Pay
Pay: $45.00 per hour
Selected candidates must be able to travel to clinical sites located in Virginia or Tennesse
