Overview

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As a Team Leader within the TCEQ’s Office of Water, you will join the Water Quality Planning Division, Data Management and Analysis (DMA) Team, responsible for supervising Water Data Management program activities.
Responsibilities

Supervise the daily activities of the Data Management and Analysis (DMA) Team to include assigning workloads and priorities, preparing management reports, and consulting with other water programs to coordinate activities. Establish standards for achieving goals associated with meeting and/or exceeding performance measurements and ensure program requirements, goals and objectives within the division are met. Ensure staff are trained and follow protocols.
Oversee and participate in the activities and operations of the team, including the development of guidance documents, validation of water quality data, review of quality assurance project plans, and management of contract staff. Ensure stated data quality objectives are met and data stored in the Surface Water Quality Monitoring Information System (SWQMIS) are reliable.
Communicate with management and other agency staff; keep management informed of developing issues; respond to management requests; assist the public by responding to inquiries, requests, and/or complaints; and communicate with customers to clarify expectations and provide information.
Complete and administer all aspects of personnel management functions. Prepare informational materials, and conduct presentations at workshops, conferences, etc.; lead and/or participate in water quality-related and data-related workgroups.
Qualifications

Education & Experience Qualifications
Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.
Or
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.
Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Water Quality Planning Division.
