Physical Therapist – PRN (Merritt Island)
$60 – $125 per visit
Job Summary
The Physical Therapist supervises and participates in the application of physical therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities, injuries, or diseases. The role includes coordinating therapy services, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with agency and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Graduate of a BS or MS level course in physical therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
Licensed or registered under the statutes of the state in which the physical therapist will practice.
One year’s experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Active member of the state and national Physical Therapy Association preferred.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise physical therapy services.
Provide physical therapy services as ordered by the referring physician and delegate appropriate portions of the treatment program to a licensed physical therapy assistant.
Instruct staff in delegated functions including precautions, special problems, contraindications, expected progress goals, and re‑evaluation plans.
Evaluate, plan, and supervise treatments and programs, establishing short‑term and long‑term goals approved by the physician with periodic re‑evaluations.
Maintain patient care records as designated by the agency, ensuring third‑party reimbursement qualifications and compliance with state/federal requirements.
Consult with family members, physicians, and other health‑care professionals as appropriate.
Participate in in‑service training for physical therapy.
Check safety, care, and cleaning of equipment.
Serve as Utilization Review and/or Advisory Board Member as requested by Administrator/Director.
Contribute to physical therapy‑related CQI as requested.
Participate in interdisciplinary conferences to maintain continuity of patient care.
Provide services in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and state/federal guidelines.
Maintain knowledge of HomeCare physical therapy procedures, regulations, and professional standards through workshops, in‑services, and independent research.
