Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated, hands‑on Cell Engineering Technician to support battery cell component preparation and prototype lithium‑ion cell fabrication within an R&D laboratory environment. This role will be part of a second‑shift cell development team focused on dry electrode process optimization and lithium‑ion battery development.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a manufacturing or R&D lab setting, is comfortable working in a moisture‑controlled dry room, and can take direction from engineers while supporting multiple tasks and projects. This is a 100% hands‑on role requiring strong execution, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare battery cell components such as electrodes, separators, and pouch cases through cutting, welding, and drying processes
Fabricate various prototype lithium‑ion battery cell configurations
Support battery cell assembly operations in a moisture‑controlled dry room environment
Document cell component preparation, prototype assembly, test results, travelers, and SOPs using MS Office tools and internal databases
Assist with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
Support procurement and handling of battery cell components and materials
Communicate technical results, progress, and status updates to engineers, supervisors, and cross‑functional teams
Execute technical experiments with minimal supervision while following defined procedures and requirements
Skills and Requirements
1+ year of hands‑on experience in a technical role within an R&D laboratory or manufacturing environment
Exposure to mechanical and/or chemical processes within an industrial or lab setting
Ability to work in a moisture‑controlled dry room environment
Comfortable handling multiple tasks and taking direction from multiple teams or projects
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience documenting procedures, travelers, SOPs, and test results
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
Ability to understand technical direction and execute experiments with limited supervision
Strong attention to detail and ability to translate requirements into execution
Experience with battery cell component processing and prototype lithium‑ion cell fabrication
Familiarity with battery materials, electrodes, separators, and cell assembly procedures
Prior experience supporting engineers or scientists in an R&D or product development environment
Experience working in fast‑paced, evolving laboratory or manufacturing settings
