Pediatrics Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Pediatrician for a call-only locum assignment in Randolph, Vermont. This opportunity is ideal for physicians who enjoy hospital-based pediatric care without clinic or office responsibilities, focusing on inpatient, nursery, and emergency coverage.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide routine newborn care in the nursery
• Participate in high-risk deliveries including neonatal resuscitation
• Manage common newborn conditions such as jaundice, feeding issues, and hypoglycemia
• Stabilize neonates for NICU transfers
• Provide backup and consult support for pediatric emergencies in the Emergency Department
• Respond to pediatric codes and urgent situations
• Answer pager calls regarding postpartum, breastfeeding, or pediatric symptoms (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash)

Schedule & Assignment Details:

• Assignment Dates: June 19, 2026 October 19, 2026
• Primary Coverage: Thursdays 5:00 PM 8:00 AM
• Weekend Coverage: One in four weekends, starting Thursday 5:00 PM Monday 8:00 AM
• On-Call: Pager response with 30-minute callback requirement
• Call Volume: 0 5 calls per overnight shift; 1 2 admissions annually per provider
• Deliveries: Facility averages 200+ deliveries annually requiring pediatric presence

Required Qualifications:

• MD with Board Certification in Pediatrics
• Active Vermont medical license
• Experience in inpatient pediatrics, newborn nursery, and neonatal resuscitation
• Comfortable with acute pediatric care and emergency consults
• Strong communication skills for pager response and team collaboration
