Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide onsite services supporting our nation s Veterans within the Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system. This role is based at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and affiliated outpatient clinics across the Houston region.

This position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, mission-driven psychiatric care in a setting that meets or exceeds national standards established by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Position Details

• Setting: Onsite VA Medical Center + affiliated outpatient clinics
• Schedule: Full-time (details provided during interview)
• Compensation: $250 $275/hour
• Patient Population: U.S. Veterans
• Scope: Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide a full spectrum of psychiatric services consistent with a modern, state-of-the-art healthcare environment
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Deliver care in accordance with nationally recognized standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams across multiple sites
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within VA systems

Requirements

• MD or DO Psychiatry
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
• Active DEA
• Current NPI
• Must meet all VA credentialing and compliance standards

Required Training (VA)

• VA Privacy & Information Security Awareness (VA 10176)
• Privacy & HIPAA Training (VA 10203)

Occupational Health Requirements

• MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella (vaccine or titer)
• TB screening (skin test, bloodwork, or chest X-ray)
• Annual flu vaccination
