Overview
The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures utilizing various imaging equipment and contrast material. Prepares and administers contrast material based on Carle policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Registered in Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 year - ARRT
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA
Registered in Radiography (R) - ARRT
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - NMTCB
Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
Education: Certificate of completion in Radiologic Technology, Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology
Responsibilities
Perform computerized axial tomography procedures, including multplanar reformats and 3D rendered images.
Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast, and recognize and respond to adverse reactions.
Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
Review radiology orders, patient history, labs and clinical data to ensure exam accuracy and medical necessity.
Review cases with radiologist when appropriate and provide necessary medical history and information for interpretation.
Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment; report malfunctions and service needs promptly.
Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed and support other modalities during downtimes.
Meet productivity levels established by department benchmarking.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $32.1 per hour – $55.21 per hour. Compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. Carle Health offers a comprehensive benefits package for team members and providers.
