Job Overview
The Unit Nurse Leader in conjunction will ensure that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients and his/her nursing units in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and program plans of the hospital. Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education. Provides input into evaluation of staff performance in accordance with organizational policies. Participates in nursing Quality Improvement. Assists with unit administration including scheduling payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Maintains and role models clinical skills necessary to provide care to patients. Takes a daily assignment. Practices an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care. Ensure that Radiology Nursing is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
Special Equipment/Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational ability, nurse management and leadership skills
Demonstrated clinical expertise in area standards
Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
Certifications and Licenses Required
Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
ACLS
PALS
Scheduling Requirements
Full-Time
Day shift
37.5 hrs. weekly
5 day per week
Monday through Friday with on call
Essential Functions
Meets requirements as defined by the applicable Department Specific Equipment Competency Checklist
All patient-related to hospital departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel and medical units
Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests
Utilizes a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs
Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility
Follows through all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion
Quality Management
Utilizes principles of CQI in all work situations
Seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve the quality, processes and services
Contributes to improving the quality of services and productivity takes the initiative to continually evaluate one's work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas
