We are searching for a dependable, energetic, driven, and talented Dietary Tech to join our team at Miracle Kids Success Academy (MKSA) & Kids Unlimited Learning Academy (KULA), an early intervention day treatment clinic for children with special needs.
MKSA/KULA provides developmental screening, therapy evaluations, early intervention day treatment, and various therapeutic services supported by licensed occupational, physical, and speech‑language therapists and nurses. The schedule includes developmental and psychological testing, nutritional evaluations, audiological evaluations, and support for children with medical needs. Services normally target children from birth to Kindergarten, with an expansion during summer months to include elementary‑aged children.
Position Purpose
Prepares and delivers snacks and lunches to each treatment room at designated times.
Essential Functions & Basic Duties
Prepares breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily for an average enrollment of 51–75 patients and delivers food/snacks to each treatment room.
Washes all dishes and/or utensils used during food preparation.
Keeps the kitchen and break room, including appliances, neat and clean.
Cleans and defrosts the milk box.
Keeps accurate temperature logs on refrigerator(s) in the kitchen and/or break room daily.
Ensures that employee food items are not stored in the refrigerator used for patient food.
Places orders with the designated vendor, stocks orders when received, labels all food items with the date received before stocking, and keeps an inventory of all items stocked.
Delivers weekly menus to each treatment room and posts weekly menu on the Parent Board.
Wears a hairnet at all times when food is being prepared and ensures that any staff entering the kitchen during food preparation is also wearing a hair net; wears gloves when handling food.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prefer at least one year of successful experience in a classroom setting working with developmentally at‑risk children or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
Must be able to work with children from birth to age 18 and families who are at risk.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence and to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncontroversial written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
