Job Description
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) will work in a fast-paced, high volume general emergency department treating a wide range of complex patient diagnoses across the pediatric to geriatric population. The role involves providing critical care and support in a team-oriented environment. The RN will rotate between evening and night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday work required.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting.
Manage patients with various emergencies including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, drug overdose, respiratory infections, and more.
Perform critical assessments, triage, and initiate interventions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic charting system.
Participate in float coverage within the emergency department and across 4 other ED locations as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
CPI training to be completed on-site during onboarding.
