Financial Analyst Intern

Our internship program offers practical corporate work experience that could lead to full‑time work after graduation. We seek students in their senior year, graduating spring of 2027. The shift is from 9 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week, starting in June and ending in August. This internship is onsite 5 days a week in Lake Mary, FL, with pay of $21 per hour.

The Financial Analyst Intern will support the Financial Services Team with preparing plan design proposals and financial analyses involving the funding of non‑qualified executive benefit programs. This internship is designed to provide hands‑on exposure to financial analysis while developing strong analytical, technical and professional skills.

Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Works closely with Senior Financial Analysts and Financial Service Directors to assist with financial modeling and forecasting of non‑qualified benefit plans, including, but not limited to deferred compensation and supplemental executive retirement plans.

Prepares ad‑hoc financial analyses to support business and operational efficiencies.

Assists in data collection, validation and reconciliation from multiple sources.

Participates in special projects to enhance productivity/efficiency and our suite of non‑qualified services and reporting.

Helps to develop dashboards and reports for management.

Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Newport to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics.

Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic modeling).

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; detail‑oriented.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Highly motivated.

Ability to collaborate with others and adapt to change.

Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and adjust to change in priorities.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Provides regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
