
HVAC Service Technician

Overview
JCM Associates, Inc. is hiring HVAC Start-up/Commissioning Technicians for full time year-round positions in commercial mechanical construction projects in the MD, VA, and DC area.
Key Responsibilities
Start-up, commission, maintain, and service industrial/commercial HVAC systems and plumbing equipment. Troubleshoot and locate malfunctions, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate repairs.
Utilize laptops/tablets to document startup and commissioning forms required per project specifications.
Work from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or verbal and written instructions.
Prove mechanical and plumbing systems are controlled by building automation systems to third party Commissioning firm.
Provide partial supervision of NEBB Tab contractor and respond to punch listed equipment.
Interface and coordinate activities with ATC sub-contractor.
Service and repair evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Repack valves, lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and clean coils.
Adjust, repair, or replace thermostats, relays, switches, and electrical wiring.
Repair or replace compressors and components, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.
Maintain refrigerant inventory and consumption logs.
Follow established safety procedures and utilize safety protective equipment and clothing applicable to trades or skills.
Perform other related duties as assigned by direct manager.
Perform minor copper tubing tasks; cut and thread pipe; make pipe and low voltage connections.
Provide proper methods of storing and maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.
Meet schedules and timelines.
Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
Teach and instruct helper on the installation of an HVAC system.
Minimum Skills/Requirements
CFC/Universal License
5 years of experience building commercial mechanical projects or equipment
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
Ability to read, understand, and work from drawings, specifications, and schematics
Understands written and verbal instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentAttendance, reliability, dependability, and flexibility
Ability to interact with multiple personality types while ensuring a positive outcome
