Laboratory Technician (3rd Shift) | Decatur, IL | $20/hr
Join a leading food manufacturing operation as a Laboratory Technician supporting quality, safety, and production excellence. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced environments, lab testing, problem-solving, and working closely with production teams to ensure products meet strict quality standards.
What You’ll Do
Perform laboratory testing on in-process and finished product samples for quality and purity
Collect samples throughout the plant and transport to the lab
Analyze results and report any deviations to Operations promptly
Record and enter test results into computerized systems
Verify calibration and daily performance of lab instruments
Conduct ATP swab testing and sanitation inspections during production line cleanings
Communicate with Operations, Sanitation, and Quality teams regarding findings
Maintain sample retention, ingredient inventory, and lab cleanliness
Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, safety, and environmental standards
Support production needs during overtime, weekends, or holidays when scheduled
What We’re Looking For
High School Diploma or GED required
Associate degree in Applied Science preferred
Prior laboratory, QA, food production, or manufacturing experience preferred
Strong communication and organization skills
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Team player with strong attendance and safety mindset
