Job Summary
RN L&D – contract, night shift, 36‑48 hrs/week (36 hr pay). Provide coordinated nursing care for patients or assigned groups according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervise and direct assigned nursing staff, coordinate care with other disciplines, and exercise critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.

Acute care facility experience – preferred.

Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice – required.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS, HS‑BLS, RQIBLS) from an approved vendor – required.

Basic Life Support (BLS, HS‑BLS, RQI BLS) – required.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required, essential.

Functions

Collects relevant data pertaining to patient health or situation, analyzes the data to determine diagnosis and care issues.

Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes.

Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

Evaluates progress toward achieving outcomes.

Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation.

Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.

Provides learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members.

Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.

Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.

Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

Unit Information

Total bed count: 192 (unit bed count: 20).

Staffing on unit: 8 RNs average for day, night, and weekend shifts.

Schedule requirements: Call required – no; floating to other units – occasional if needed; weekend coverage – required on alternate or every third weekend.

Day shift: Saturday/Sunday.
