Going forward, Bluecrest is looking to acquire high-quality multifamily assets across the Sunbelt and continue to invest preferred equity in multifamily development projects.

Bluecrest is adding an

Asset & Investment Management Analyst

to support our multifamily investment team in Newport Beach, CA. This role offers direct exposure to all aspects of the investment lifecycle, working closely with senior leadership on portfolio monitoring, construction management, investor reporting, and complex investment situations. The Analyst will play a key role in evaluating investment performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting strategic decision‑making across the portfolio.

focused on asset management and portfolio operations (75% of time), while also providing direct exposure to acquisitions, underwriting, and investment team initiatives (25% of time).

Key Responsibilities

Acquisitions & Underwriting

Build and maintain detailed financial models for multifamily acquisitions and development projects

Analyze rent rolls, T-12s, budgets, and market data to reforecast portfolio performance

Support investment reporting materials, including memos, return analysis, and scenario modeling

Assist in due diligence processes, including review of third‑party reports and financial data

Construction & Development Oversight

Track construction progress, budgets, and timelines across active development projects

Analyze cost‑to‑complete, draw requests, and construction variances

Assist in evaluating change orders, contractor performance, and project risks

Coordinate with developers and internal teams on construction‑related reporting and requirements

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting materials for internal and investor use

Perform variance analysis against underwriting and reforecast projections

Support cash flow forecasting and performance tracking across investments

Investment Memos & Special Situations

Assist in evaluating underperforming or complex investments, including restructurings and workout scenarios

Prepare analytical memos with clear recommendations for senior leadership

Conduct ad hoc analyses on strategic initiatives, capital events, and portfolio decisions

AI & Process Optimization

Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Excel integrations) to streamline underwriting, reporting, and workflows

Help develop and refine internal processes to improve efficiency and scalability

Identify opportunities to automate recurring analyses and enhance data quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field.

You have at zero‑four years of experience in multifamily real estate private equity, or investment banking.

You have strong financial modeling skills in Excel (ability to build and audit models)

You are proficient in PowerPoint and have experience preparing investment materials

You have strong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets (rent rolls, T-12s, budgets)

Preferred Requirements

You have at least one year of experience with multifamily underwriting and development projects

You have experience with construction budgets, draw processes, and cost tracking

You have exposure to AI tools or interest in applying technology to investment workflows

Competitive Salary
The salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's total relevant experience. Relevant experience would be 0-4 years underwriting multifamily acquisitions. We anticipate the salary range to be from $80,000 to $110,000.
